Degree programs propose wealth of options like honors degree, single/double and triple honors programs, etc. Don’t know which is right for you? Under mentioned are some programs for your guidance:

1. Foundation degrees– Foundation degrees are very short and are very much equal to two thirds of an honors degree. It can be completed within the time duration of 2 years of full time study. In terms of nature, it is typically vocational, as such type of degrees are designed to provide help to the students in their career so that they can gain professional skills and discover academic theory by using practical or work based experience. It is mostly consider by the students who are wishing and willing to switch their careers by learning the foundation of their new and recent profession quickly and efficiently.

If an individual wanted to turn their degree from the foundation to full honors degree by adding some extra years in their studies, it is considered as the good choice before testing anything. In such cases, it is concluded that you don’t need any particular academic qualifications to gain a position in a foundation degree by completing the qualification which offers an alternate directions into the higher education if you didn’t get the required grades while you are studying that subject for the first time.

2. Honors degree– Honors degree is a standard three year degree also known as hons’ consist of various subjects and 360 credits under it. In the final year of study, it includes special project or a dissertation. Subjects like BSc or BA comprised of 300 credits and avoid dissertation and special project and is completely opposite to BSc or BA honors program. However, there are multiple bachelor courses that propose honors for building a standard, as most of the university offers degree programs with honors.

If you do not score finals to qualify and would not be able to pass the required modules of your course, there are more chances that you are awarded a degree without honors. Under this, the degree classification works including first class honors, second class honors, third class honors, pass without honors or fail.

Bachelor Degrees3. Bachelor degrees– Most of the undergraduate degrees are called as bachelor’s degree. Even if you are not willing to go for post graduate study, it is considered as the usual or mandatory qualification which does not offer any option or choice. There are different courses under bachelor degree that includes LLB (Bachelor of Law), BVSc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) but courses like BA (Bachelor of Arts) and BSc (Bachelor of Science) are counted under standard classifications. But nobody can deny from the fact that all bachelor degrees have equal value, it is dependent on the type of subject an individual is willing to study.

4. Master degree– After completing your bachelor’s degree, you can pursue post graduate or master’s degree. This qualification requires one or two years of your study or education. However, some of the undergraduate degrees offers integrated course consisting of both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at one time. This process does not involve three years plus two years, instead it directly consumes four years of academic qualification with MA (Master of Arts) or MSc (Master of Science), etc.

If a candidate has extensive practical experience in your subject, then he/she can skip a bachelor’s degree for one year and consider master’s degree as their first degree. A research has been conducted which shows that only few students understand and consider this case. It is true for some of the vocational courses and degrees like creative writing. Here, authors can directly submit the examples of their published work by having a place on the master’s degree for the completion of bachelor’s degree.

In some of the universities, the awarded qualification after the completion of bachelor’s degree is known as MA. But this is not equal to master’s degree; you still have to register for an extra post graduate study.

5. Single honors– An individual can read only one subject at a time. But there are some exceptions in the courses like PPE where a student can study Politics, Philosophy and Economics that involves the study of three subjects and comes under a single honors course. You can also choose the subjects like Law with Criminology and Management with Marketing. Such subjects also come under the category of single honors degree as the minor subject. These are highly related subjects and are integrated into the major ones. There is no need to study them individually.

Single Honors Degree6. Combined honors– There are some degrees like joint or combined honors that allow you to study two or three subjects as a part of standard three-year undergraduate degree. A student can be offered separate modules for each and every subject that will be taught by a different school within the same university. In such case, if you are willing to study subjects like History or BA English, then modules will be taught to you by the staff of History school and BA English school respectively. If you will study two subjects at a time, each of the subjects covers 50% of your course or your final grade but if you choose three subjects, you can make up one-third of your course.
