Essay
Critically examine the significance of leadership competence in Professional Public Health Practice, using the related frameworks to support your discussion.
Leadership is a very important factor that is helpful in the proper establishment of different effective goals. This is what helps in promoting better accountability. Due to the proper implementation of leadership, the increase in collaborative behavior also gets improved gradually (Sekardini, Saragih and Sakina, 2021). It has been found that with the proper implementation of leadership, it becomes possible for developing unique and standard values and vision across the organization, and it thus boosts entire morale.
The essay below will provide a detailed overview of the needs and the importance of leadership in different public health care centres. Initially, the essay begins with a clear description of the importance of leadership, and further, it also assists in understanding the different leadership competencies through describing different strong frameworks (Siswanti, Khairuddin and Halim, 2018). A descriptive discussion will also be implemented within the essay by differentiating the management and leadership.
It has been found that the organizational culture is related directly to the efficiency of the leadership, and this is what improves the overall satisfaction of the job. Leadership culture is something that assists the people in undertaking discussions and interacting with other people through taking necessary and most suitable discussions.
Change management is a very important factor that is taken into use by any of the organizations for developing their overall efficiency and quality of work. Through implementing different change management processes, it becomes very easy for the companies in making necessary changes in both their external as well as internal business processes. There is also a very important role of effective leadership in improving the overall quality and performance of a health care organization (Ismail, Hamzah and Fatah, 2019). Even with the proper incorporation of effective leadership, the organizations often become capable of conveying their visions and motives to other people. With the proper incorporation of effective leadership, it becomes easy to implement the change management practices and approaches within the organization in a very effective manner.
There is also very important of the leadership practices and processes in maintaining and providing necessary support to the people as, through the implementation of effective leadership, the individuals and the organizations become capable of measuring their goals or objectives (Sardjono, Selviyanti and Perdana, 2020). Thus, with the proper implementation of the leadership approaches, changing the behaviours and attitudes becomes an easy task to be performed. On the other hand, it has also been observed that leadership plays a very important role in improving the entire communication process across the organizations, and also through the proper implementation of effective and accurate leadership, it also becomes possible for the health care staff and the other employees to communicate with the patients transparently. Leadership helps an individual understand the importance and the priority of the tasks and the responsibilities, and thus when there is a presence of leadership found within a health care organization, obtaining a proper roadmap becomes easy to perform (Shanthan et al., 2020). This practice also assists in putting the plans into desired actions accurately. Due to the presence of effective leadership, it can also be found that the managers and the other relevant organizational decision-makers become capable of identifying the major obstacles and risks associated with the organizational tasks, and thus, it also becomes possible for them to address and mitigate these issues and contribute in improving the entire quality and the performance of the organization.
In most public health organizations, it is found that the overall performance level generally gets improved with the gradual improvement of their delivery service. In this process, the leadership is something that assists the most because by introducing effective leadership, the entire delivery system is centred on a specific person, and reporting to a particular person also improves chances for increasing the entire efficiency of the organization. Whenever it has been found that the leadership present across the organization is very efficient and advanced from the context of quality, there are higher chances of obtaining better care management across the organizational premises. With the introduction of better care management, the chances of obtaining better coordination and collaboration also get improved gradually, and more people and organizations' staffs engage with the organizational tasks in a collaborative manner.
Communication plays a very important role in improving the overall quality and level of performance of an organization because with the proper and accurate implementation of the leadership approaches and processes, the interaction and the inter-communication between the patients and the providers gets high, and thus the entire patient satisfaction also gets improved gradually (Wang et al., 2020). In most cases, the patients become incapable of expressing their problems to the service providers, or it can even be found that due to the presence of ineffective communication from the service provider's side, the overall chance of getting an outstanding understanding reduces and this also makes a chance for getting higher complaints and customer dissatisfaction. As the improved quality of the leadership ensures the higher growth of the communication strategies and quality, it thus improves the overall collaboration level and also contributes effectively in building better and more effective teamwork among the team members. As the proper implementation of the communication assists in implementing a sound relationship between the team members, it also helps in improving the overall communication level, and thus the patients become capable enough to follow and perform the medical recommendations that assist in getting a higher advantage in managing the organizational works. As the communication strategy gets improved gradually, it becomes easy to adopt any kind of preventive behaviours related to health.
Collaboration is a very important factor that plays a very important role in any kind of organization, especially in public health organizations (Ferdianto, 2019). With the proper implementation of the effective leadership approaches and practices, the staff become efficient enough in enhancing their opportunities through sharing the available resources and also this practice of collaboration assist in combining different unique talents across the organizational premises and thus the likeliness of the positive outcome of health also rises high. With the introduction of effective collaborative behaviour across the organization, it can be found that the stakeholders maintain an outstanding collaboration while performing the organizational tasks, and the collaboration also expands the entire capacity of the health care system of the community. As the collaboration of both the talents and knowledge can be found here, the staff engagement and the employee collaboration also get increased outstandingly.
There are also different types of skills related to professional practices which aim to improve the overall quality and the performance of the individual during performing regular organizational tasks. One must have the skill of self-awareness to become a very significant part of an organization because, with the proper incorporation of the practice of self-awareness, one becomes capable of predicting any kind of associated risks and taking necessary actions for mitigating them (Reinaldo, Andi and Ong, 2021). Not only the presence of communication, but one must also grow the other relevant professional skills such as positivity creativity and always try to remain motivated while performing a specific task. The efficiency of a group gets increased when better and efficient morale and better self-confidence of the individuals get introduced within the team. There is also an effective leadership theory that the staff and the authorities can take into use. Transformational leadership has a total of 4 steps they are encouraging creativity, mentoring, better influencing, and finally, the model also helps the employees in improving the level of motivation (Dema et al., 2021). Through the proper implementation of this leadership model, it becomes possible for establishing strong relationships, and also it encourages the growth of better creativity.
Professional behaviour also involves the proper collaboration of better reliability, presence of higher standard and also the presence of better care makes the entire quality and the professionalism better and more relevant (Mityagina and Naumova, 2019). A good and effective professional practice also requires a better implementation of professional practice that also requires proper collaboration and the presence of a long training and education practice. By ensuring proper compliance with the laws and regulations, the stakeholders and the other relevant organizational bodies incorporate a better and more effective communication strategy across the organization. There are a total of 5 important levels of leadership that an individual must follow and implement to be an effective and outstanding leader. These steps are position, permission, production, people development, and pinnacle. Here in the first level, that is, position, it becomes the duty of the relevant authorities to demonstrate their authority through displaying important features and qualities. Through his approach, the company can follow all the essential tasks and policies, including regulations. The better practice of receiving proper permission from the relevant bodies also develops the chances for avoiding any kind of mistakes related to accountability. By introducing different advanced technology, the production leaders impose a significant and better impact on their respective organizations, which also ensures advanced training to their employees and the staff. An effective leader must also take necessary measures for helping and assisting other people by investing in the individual's money, energy and time, and this also assists them in obtaining better and advanced management skills. Pinnacle leaders also have a greater impact on the entire quality, and the performance of a public health care organization also gets improved due to the presence of the Pinnacle leaders, and they are the person who helps in increasing the productivity and assist in the growth of the departments. To increase the overall efficiency and the overall quality of the entire organization, it also becomes very much important for incorporating the different types of habits and contributing actively to the development and the growth of the organizational operations and the work quality. These are some of the essential policies and practices that have been mentioned clearly in Covey's habits 4-7 guidelines and model. It has been stated throughout the model that with the proper incorporation of being more pro-active, initializing an activity from its beginning putting things in order according to their priorities, an individual becomes more effective towards their work and thus the overall capability and the personal performance quality also gets improved. There is also huge importance of Emotional Intelligence all across the organization because through the proper implementation of emotional intelligence, a person becomes capable of performing their tasks properly, and this practice also assists them in building a better and more effective relationship between the staff and the potential stakeholders. Also, through the proper implementation of the E.I., it becomes easy for the management and the other relevant authorities for reducing the team spirit, and this thus aims to defuse the internal conflicts of the team and contributes actively to increasing the overall job satisfaction. The overall quality and the effectiveness of the job satisfaction get improved with the proper implementation of the monitoring and surveillance approach. It has been found that with the proper implementation of better surveillance, it becomes very important for the company's internal decision-makers to take a necessary and appropriate decision through undertaking and evaluating the factual l data and information (Fischer et al., 2020). This is something that also allows the internal tea members for setting up priorities and plans effectively for performing the organizational tasks. Through the proper and effective implementation of these kinds of effective and accurate practices and approaches, it also becomes able for the entire organizational authority in taking necessary and most relevant decisions. His practice also assists the entire team in undertaking the organizational tasks in a more effective and relevant manner.
The entire essay has covered the topic of "Leadership in Public health" and also helped in understanding the role and the responsibilities of effective leadership in improving the entire quality and the performance of the organization. Through depicting different relevant and appropriate frameworks, the essay has also assisted in understanding the importance of different competencies that health care organizations receive due to the proper implementation of effective leadership. Several important skills related to leadership and professional advancement have also been discussed, which have also assisted in improving the entire quality and the performance of these organizations.
