REFLECTIVE ESSAY
The essay developed a new perspective towards the approaches of the government of the United States in maintaining the framework of employee relations. I learned that the economic growth of a nation is majorly supported by the employee relations in that country. Employee relations have a huge contribution to the legal, economic and social structure of the country. The role of the legislator is to implement laws related to employee rights whereas the role of public sector employers is to maximize the hiring process in the states. The role of the legislator, economic manager or the public sector employer is to develop a legal framework in the states to fit the work environment, work culture, employer and employee easily in the dimensions of the employee relations frameworks. I observed that the roles of these are closely interrelated to each other and these roles play a great role in enhancing the framework (Poon, 2019). The labour markets of the USA affect employee relations and the employee and employer provide the supply and demand in the market. The labour market highly influences the policy formation of the government towards employee relations and the relationship between the management and the employee.
The formation of the essay enriched me with a wide amount of knowledge about the legal system of the united states of America, the labour market of America, the economic and social structure of America. The country is the world's largest economy and there are many policies and strategies of the government which are commendable and can be adapted by other countries too to gain a boost in the economy of the country. Though I observed that the country sometimes doesn't give much emphasis on the employers of the nation as no employee confederation has been organized yet.
I observed that the politics of employee relations of the united states is highly diversified there are many policies or practices which are involved in the framework of employee relations in the united states of America and the policies are not politically neutral (Liu, 2021). I learned that the country follows the basic wage policy which is providing the minimum wage after completing the minimum working hours and hike according to the overtime or decrease according to the fewer hours. I learned that two factors actively affect employee relations which are the employability rates and the rates of labour productivity. The politics of employee relations serve the interests of the employers, workers, trade unions, shareholders, investors etc. I learned the viewpoint of many authors who researched employee relations and their framework. One of the authors stated that the functioning and operations of an organization entirely depends on the competency and ability of the employees. I learned that the power of having positive employee relations is majorly in the hands of the employers as they can create such an environment that it will satisfy the employees and make them like the work environment and adapt to the working culture.
I conducted secondary research to form the essay. I observed that employee relations is a complex set of phenomena and it deals with major issues internally and externally (Shahri and Nogahanibehambari, 2021). The phenomenon of employee relations is a complex set and involves the inside as well as outside of an organization. The Government frame legal policies which provide the employees with an assurance to develop good economic relations and trust the employer’s process. The employment rate is majorly affected by the policies and practices of the government. Every other factor somehow starts or ends on the term of the legal framework. This is the deciding factor of employment relations.
I concluded that the author observed surplus information related to employee relations and the information varies from time to time. No information is universal as the dimensions of employee relations vary from country to country or from time to time. Therefore, the conclusions which are drawn by maximum authors on employee relations do not apply to every country (Fossen, 2021). It depends on the situation and the problem and solution-seeking approach of the solution. The information is required to be varied with the circumstance.
The assessment helped me in gaining enough knowledge about the topic and I developed better approaches to perform the assignment. My research skills and analytical ability also get enhanced after structuring the assessment.
