Introduction
The tourism industry is one of the industries that have grown drastically in the last two decades, and due to this increase and growth of the tourism industry is leading to growth in the country. According to the research of Kumar and Nafi (2020), the covid-19 pandemic has to change the dynamic of the tourism industry because of worldwide lockdown, which has to reduce international tourism. Due to this, the tourism industry has to go through an unprecedented crisis period, and because of this crisis, hotel operators, resort owners, tour operators and the airline industry were affected the most due to this lockdown. However, as per the research of Bakar and Rosbi (2020), the outcome of the covid-19 has completely changed the overall scenario of the tourism industry. The analysis of the economic outcome of the tourism industry after the pandemic has shown that situation of the covid-19 generates a wave of panic in the people, which reduce the demand for tourism. In addition, the research to Fernandes (2020), the outbreak of the covid-19 has affected all the countries around the world, but there are some countries whose economy depends on the tourism industry and foreign trade get affected the most. These small countries went through a drastic drop in the economy, due to which the overall development of the country also gets affected the most. These worldwide lockdowns have changed the dynamic of the tourism industry because the people are not only scared but avoid travelling to different countries due to quarantine periods and other problems. This fear and lack of motivation of people to travel need to be changed, and business events can be the source that helps in bringing the tourism of countries back on track (Colombo & Marques, 2020). In addition, motivation in the people can occur at any point in time, and events are the biggest source for the people getting motivated. The diversity in the events and the characteristic it brings can be helpful for the organization in bringing motivation in the people to visit the event. However, the reason because of which events are important for the boosting of the tourism industry as it gave the people the motivation to visit the place for attending the event and it helps in become an integral part of the global tourism (Mohanty, et. al., 2020). In this report, there will be a discussion about the importance of business events and how it helps in boosting tourism for the Milton Keynes area. This report will discuss the overall feature of the events and how they can be useful for the countries and small areas. Impact of the covid-19 pandemic on tourism and event management industry
The covid-19 pandemic has completely changed the way of living for people all over the world as it makes people see a lot of different things which never happened or occurred before. Almost every country in the world has enforced lockdown, which has prevented travel and tourism. As per Ugur and Akbiyik (2020), the covid-19 have affected the tourism industry a lot; before 2020, the tourism industry will be considered as the biggest market, and after covid, the tourism industry faces a sudden decline. Although, the tourism industry is not the only industry that gets affected because the covid-19 event management industry is also affected the most. In addition, as per the research of Madray (2020), covid-19 has become a threat to the people's health, and because of that, the government of countries have enforced lockdown which prevents the people from travelling. Due to the restriction in the gathering of people, the events that are going to occur is also cancelled or shifted. Due to this cancellation of the event, the event management industry faced a loss of more than 500 billion dollars. This cancellation of events and lack of tourism affect the global economy.
Relation between the tourism industry and business events.
The tourism industry is the industry that has been affected by the covid-19 most, and even after the pandemic came into control, people still hesitate to travel. As per the research of Seraphin, et. al. (2018) tourism industry can get benefit from the business event because a lot of people just visit the place for attending the event. More people visiting or attending events can be helpful in improving the tourism industry, and it leads to improving the overall economy of the country. However, as per the research of Ziyadin, et. al. (2019), the tourism of any country also improved based on the type of event like if a country host big events like Olympic or football world cup then more people will visit the place and that will boost the economy a lot. This conduction of events can become a reason for the people to visit that place and that indirectly improves the tourism country.
Importance of business event industry in improving tourism of Milton Keynes area.
The Milton Keynes area is located in England, and it is one of those areas of England which have the highest number of productive localities. According to the research of Potter, et. al. (2021), the Milton Keynes area has faced a decrease in tourist visits because of the covid-19, and it has completely affected the overall economic growth of the area. After the covid-19, the number of tourist visits to the city has decreased and due to which the popularity of area affected the most. However, Milton Keynes has one of the largest areas in the UK with start-ups. In addition, as per the research of Wolff, et. al. (2017), the event related to business in the city can be helpful as it will help them in providing a reason for the people to visit the city and as the people visit the city, the tourism industry directly gets the benefit. This is the reason the conduction of business-related events in the city where start-ups are in the trend can be a benefit for the tourism industry of that city, and the greater number of people visiting for an event directly affects the working.

The research methodology contains information about the process that has been required to complete the research in the proper way. The research methodology contains research philosophy, approach, data collection and analysis. The research methodology is also important because it helps in creating research that not only remain systematic but also follows a proper pattern and remain focused on the research topic.
Research Philosophy
The research philosophy represents the overall thinking of the researcher behind the completion of the research. There is a different type of research philosophy presented out which the philosophy that is going to be used for the research is interpretivism (Ryan, 2018). The research philosophy also helps in understanding the overall nature of the research and help in understanding the research in a much more effective way. The reason for selecting this philosophy is for the research is because the qualitative data is selected for the research.
Research approach
Research approach can be defined as the overall plan that has to be followed to complete the research in an effective way. The research approach is mainly two types, and these approaches are called the deductive approach, and another one is the inductive approach. This research will be completed using the inductive approach, and the reason behind the use of the inductive research approach is because it helps in completing the research by focusing on the research question. Due to this, the inductive research approach is used because this research was also completed based on the number of research questions prepared.
Research Strategies
The strategy of the research can be defined as the demonstration of the process used for collecting data. There are different types of research strategies that can be used like research focused on the case study, research-based on experiments, grounded theory etc. This research will be completed by using grounded theory because qualitative data is going to be used, and also the approach used is the inductive approach which also works effectively with grounded theory.
Research Choice
The research choice is the overall explanation regarding the type of data that is going to be used in the research. There is a different type of research choice that can be made regarding the research like mixed-method where both types of data that is quantitative and qualitative will be used. Effect of covid-19 on economy and tourism industry
The covid-19 pandemic has an impact on almost every industry in the world, and due to which the overall economy of the country is also affected. The industry that gets affected the most by the covid-19 is the tourism industry it is because of the complete ban on international and domestic travel. The tourism industry is one of the biggest industries that have a huge contribution to the overall growth of a country economy-wise. There are different channels that have to allow the covid-19 to break the economy of the countries on the global level. The biggest factor that has impacted is the death of people all over the world, which have impacted the economy the most at the global level. Due to this growth in the death rate all over the world have developed a sense of fear in the people which prevent them from travelling in the latter part of the year. The impact of the covid-19 on tourism directly reflects on the economic growth of the particular country, but at the same time, it also affects the global economy due to which global crises occur. In the year 2020, the tourism industry has faced a loss of almost 800 billion dollars, and because of this decline in the tourism industry economy of countries also decreases. There are different reasons which the tourism industry gets affected the most apart from lockdown. The fear in the people also prevent them from travelling, also due to health insecurities affects the tourism industry a lot. The reason why the loss faced by the tourism sector has been affected the most is that it is one of those industries that have been growing a lot in the last 5 years and help many countries in boosting their economy. However, as the covid emerges, they have completely affected the overall working capability of the tourism industry, and both international and domestic tourism has been stopped completely. Due to this, the loss that has occurred in the tourism industry has been affected completely, and that leads to an effect on the overall economic growth of countries, and that leads to a decrease in the global economy. Another reason that can affect the overall economy and tourism industry is the decrease in the demand of consumers towards tourism industry and the reasons because of which demand decreases is because of the panic that has been going around all over the world and also increases in the unemployment rate is the other factor. This increase in panic and unemployment all over the world has completely changed the dynamic of the tourism industry, and the demand for tourists has decreased because many people want to remain safe and do not want to leave their homes. These are some of the factors that have affected the tourism industry, and covid-19 have put a hold on the growth of the tourism industry, and it has completely affected the growth of the industry. A decrease in the growth of the tourism industry leads to a decrease in the business of the hotel industry food industry as well, and the amount of loss is high that recovering from it becomes difficult.
Effect of covid-19 on event management industry.
This impact of covid-19 has also affected the event management industry because for any event people gathered and due to restrictions in the travel and gathering of people, there are many events that have been cancelled because of the restriction and health condition of the people. The tourism industry still was not able to recover from the losses and due to which the overall economy of many countries gets affected. Based on the information gathered using research paper it can be said that there are the different reasons because of which the people do not prefer to travel like health issues and many believe that lack of motivation in the people prevent them from visiting different places of the world. This lack of motivation can be solved with the reason, and business events are those reasons that allow the people to visit new places and improve the tourism industry of the country. As per the research, the author has to develop a framework that helps them. There is indirect relation that is present between the business event and tourism, and many researchers believe that if people went on to attend an event in any country or city, they will some site which help in improve the overall tourism of the country. Events can be defined as an important reason for the tourist to visit the place, and as the tourist is willing to attend an event, then there is a chance that they visit different places that help in improving the tourism industries. Different events have a different effect on the tourism industry, and it depends on the type of event. Like if the city is holding an annual business event or event for the businesses, then that event will be important for the people that have an interest in the business. It means that business-related events will be helpful for the tourism industry, but at the same time, they will not have that much effect compared to the event that can be attended by the general public. If an event is a type of concert or related to the sport like football world cup, then the crowd visit the place will be in a very high quantity and that have a much more effect on the tourism of the country compare to any other event. This is the reason that improvement of the tourism for any country depends on which type of event has been organized in the country and what facilities have been provided to them. However, as the covid-19 rises, the governments of countries have put a hold on the events as it involves the gathering of people, and it increases the risk of spreading of covid-19. This is the reason that for almost a year, if any event is organized, then it occurs without allowing the crowd and due to which the events are also not a source for the city to improve their tourism. However, as time goes and the relaxation begins, the business events have also started with the people, and the tourism industry is also improving.
Impact of event industry on reestablishing tourism industry in Milton Keynes.
There are cities in the world where tourists prefer to visit, and Milton Keynes is one of those cities. Milton Keynes city is a city located in London, England, and it is one of the cities in England that have the highest number of start-ups. The city is also used for hosting some of the biggest business events in the world, but due to covid, the city has lost a huge number of tourists. The occurrence of business events in Milton Keynes city can become the source of improving their tourism industry. Based on the research of authors, the business event in Milton Keynes city can be a huge improvement in the overall development of the tourism industry of the city. The analysis of the information present in the research paper also helps in understanding that business events can become a source of improving the tourist visit rate in the city, which is indirectly helpful for the government of the country. Due to covid-19, the government of different countries have been developing different methods to improve the hospitality service of the city to make the tourist comfortable like the transportation service in the Milton Keynes city. The reason behind this enhancement of the services helps in improving the satisfaction rate of tourists, and if the tourist is satisfied enough with the facilities that have been provided to them, then they are willing to visit the event again. Milton Keynes is an important place in England in organizing and managing business event because it is the place where a lot of start-ups takes place. Due to this, organizing any event can be useful in improving the tourism of Milton Keynes because the tourism in the city decreased a lot after covid-19. To enhance the tourism in the area, apart from providing facilities to the tourist, the government and event organizer has been developing different strategies that can be used for improving the ability to organize events in the city like Milton Keynes. During the covid, the event organizer has used functionalities like virtual networking, which allow them to run their events in the restrictions of covid-19. These change in the business models is helpful enough to manage the events in the situations like covid-19, and many events have become successful during the lockdown. The more event that will be organized in the cities like Milton Keynes is helpful for them as it will attract more tourists to visit the place.
Discussion
The covid lockdown placed adverse effect on tourism, event, and economy sector but limited understand in respect to Milton Keynes sector tourism improvement the knowledge gap provided research aim. For addressing the gap, the study used the appropriate interpretivism philosophy with an inductive approach and cross-sectional data collection techniques for accomplishing the research aim and objectives while answering questions. The previous section performed the analysis over the collected secondary data for highlighting the key findings. However, this section presents the discussion of the collected information and research findings with the scope of answering questions and objectives. The section involves sub-sections highlighting information regarding covid19- impact on the tourism industry and event management industry with economic aspects. The section also discusses the understanding regarding the pandemic effect on the event industry and tourism reestablishment aspect in Milton Keynes city. The section also provides a discussion of suggestions from different research articles to understand crisis impact and event managing situations for effective performance delivery within the tourism industry.
Effect of covid-19 on economy and tourism industry
Covid-19 spread at the global level placed a negative impact on the various industry sectors and individuals (Madray, 2020). The widespread pandemic caused a lockdown and quarantining of individuals resulting in a changed social living style. The infection threat at international grounds and among the government resulted in reduced resources available due to restrictions on tour and travelling. Kumar and Nafi (2020) significantly highlighted the change in the environment of international and local tourism dynamics due to covid pandemic restrictions. The covid infection and restrictions placed direct effect on industries where healthy affected majorly followed by hospitality sector of tourism. The direct impact completely changed the tourism and event management scenario with a direct impact on earning ways and economic basis due to reduced customer relations (Bakaer and Rosbi, 2020). The crisis also affected the individuals connected with the tourism sector as tour operators, service providers, airline industry, hotel operators, and resort owners. The research paper presented by Seraphin, et. al. (2018) contributed knowledge of tourism activities affecting community well and factors. The study also showed that business activities benefit the tourism industry with improvement in sector and country’s economy. The collected information interpretation helped in identifying the lockdown aspects which caused limitations among tourism benefits and market. The analysis also presented a similar pre and posted covid situation for the industry to some extent resulting in increased hesitation among tourists and locals. The author's paper findings highlighted tourism getting higher benefits through enhanced supportive and interactive activities with visitors (Seraphin, et. al., 2018). Further, the collected information in the section also presented quality relationships and interaction factors as an important aspect for the potential generation to industry. However, the comparative analysis also showed environmental and governmental effects due to covid also plays important aspect role in the industry for a potential generation.
In addition, the analysis also presented the understanding of adverse situations leading to decreased financial support and negligible earning of industry organizations due to reduced social activity. The study shared the learning regarding the severe effect of social activity on management practices of modern trends of tourism. The research article of Ziyadin, et. al. (2019) presented tourism attraction effectiveness related to regional factors with consideration of social, economic, and environmental development aspects. The review provided the view that the author also discussed the different tourism events classification affected accommodation facilities. The study understanding showed the involvement of education, culture, and customer characteristics as aspects for creating influencing impact in the industry (Ziyadin, et. al., 2019). The covid scenario knowledge displayed an adverse effect on all characteristic aspects resulting in limitations. Despite effective information highlighting, the analysis of all articles enlightened lack of environmental influence-based learning for industry service causing usage of ineffective risk handling processes. The interpretation of article information also highlighted the reduced investment in domain with uninteresting and inability to travelling increased negative effect of covid in the tourism sector with economic aspects.
Effect of covid-19 on event management industry
The research highlighted information ineffective tourist interaction and connection with industry-leading to a negative effect on transportation, management, and security aspects of the industry. The collected data also provided an understanding of inappropriate transportation services affecting the management activity industry due to direct connections within the hospitality sector. The documentary evidence of Potter, et. al. (2021) provides the responsive transportation affected by regulatory, economic, technological, and environmental barriers. Further, the understanding highlighted observation of these barriers prominently by numerous researchers during the covid lockdown affecting every industry and especially to the tourism sector. The barriers also resulted in placing of significant impact on event conduct thought, behaviour, and planning reasons. The authors' in-depth study showed issues with the policies and management strategies affecting the industry caused reduced interest in public events with management activities. The information analysis also showed lowered annual payment for operators and ineffective scheduling caused the effect on direct request to management events resulted in lowered tourism performance (Potter, et. al., 2021). Further, the study of Wolff, et. al. (2017) also highlighted the lack of engagement within the city and society for motivating tourists affecting event management for industry and decreased development of the field.
The knowledge gained from literature reviewing of research articles provided insight into strategies lacking in the industry that caused inappropriate promotion, incentives, accuracy, quality, and awareness. The research showed a decline in travelling and tourism with the sudden decline in event management tasks due to enforced governmental regulations and health safety perspectives. Further, the cancelling with a shifting of the event also caused financial, relationship, and promotional loss to the industry. The data findings also highlighted the changing and complex planning in the pandemic situation as a negative effecting factor on event management and the tourism industry (Wolff, et. al., 2017). However, the discussion of different aspects also presented the understanding of dispersed responsibilities and services, which lead to insignificant resources availability issues to the sector. In addition, the study also showed a lack of creativity within the industry during the post-pandemic scenario, which also caused an impact on industry engagement and outcomes with respect to event handling. However, the information analysis also showed the scope of improvement in the sector and management industry through hosting big events like the world cup, Olympics, etc. The researchers showed a direct linking of event management enhancement with improvement in the tourism sector and market trade-off at the state level. Mohanty, et. al. (2020) highlighted the scope of raising motivation among participants for improving event management performance, placing a positive impact on the travel and tourism hospitality industry at the global level. Potter, et. al. (2021) presented information on the need for covid post-resolution in Milton Keynes for developing an effective transportation system supporting event management and the tourism sector at the local level.
Impact of event industry on reestablishing tourism industry in Milton Keynes
The research information showed that before the covid hit, the tourism industry was identified as the world’s largest market (Ugur and Akbiyik, 2020). However, the global crisis caused a significant rise in the failure rate of the industry resulting in increased cancellation of events and trips. The researchers showed changing environment and management aspects in cities as the noteworthy effect on local tourism and events. In addition, the researches present the drastic change of country and local region growth with tourism industry improvement through attracting tourists. Colombo and Marques (2020) showed business events and activities as the key source for bringing tourism back on track within a city or country. The review of the information presented by Fernandes (2020) displayed foreign trade with tourism of state got most affected while raising issues in the sector at the global level. Like, other cities, the research analysis highlighted Milton Keyes also been facing similar tourism and management issues with the need for resolution for transformation while handling a crisis situation. Milton Keynes city being located in London and biggest England city having high start-up numbers causing hosting of business events also faced the tourism issue in pandemic duration. The studies highlighted the raise of economic, governmental, and social barriers for public event management or handling affecting the nearby tourism sector. The researches analysis provided the knowledge of improving hospitality rate and conformability of event organization industry for managing the tourism industry performance in the city.
The gathered analysis understanding showed the need for improvement in management and transportation system of locality for effective handling of post covid situation (Potter, et. al., 2021). The review results provided the motivation for events participants to citizens as the factor to boost industry and re-establish efficient market performance (Mohanty, et. al., 2020). The understanding showed the scope of uplifting transportation sustainability with the involvement of SMART city thoughts at the geographical region of Milton Keynes for improving the condition (Wolff, et. al., 2018). The interpretation of case studies involved in research articles also highlighted the need for involving creative motivational thinking in the event management and organizing sector for uplifting travelling and tourism hospitality of the region. The suggestion was raised due to the direct impact of event management and infrastructure aspect on the tourism feature of every city at the global level. Further, the literature reviewing data highlighted the scope of additional extra benefits with the event management sector for increasing citizen involvement and causing an enhancement in the hospitality industry. The analysis also provided insight into increasing business event promotions within the area for gaining high engagement and development in the economy with the interaction of industry.
Conclusion
The tourism industry is one of the major sources of economy for any country, and since the last two decades, it has developed effectively. But in every developing field, there were always some challenges present. The main issue that was faced by the tourist industry was the global pandemic COVID-19. In the year 2020 World Health Organization declares COVID-19 as a world pandemic that created a huge impact all over the world. The aim proposed in this research was to provide an understanding of the implementation of business in the reestablishment of the tourism industry in the area of Milton Keynes. The objective that concluded through this report was the importance of the tourism industry in the tourism industry of Milton Keynes. This is a city located in London which is popular for their visiting places, but pandemic creates a great impact on the tourism of this city and also decrease ineffective tourist interaction sed the economy of the city. Then it described the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism industry and how it affects the industry. As every country imposed lockdown due to the widespread of this disease, which people cancelled or shifted their plans of tour and travel, which resulted in the industry facing the loss of around 500 billion dollars. And the factors that can be implemented for the further improvement in the tourism industry of Milton Keynes. To accomplish the aim report used an inductive research approach with interpretivism policy. In this report, a grounded theory strategy is used, and the reason behind the use of this report is its compatibility with the inductive research approach. The data is collected through the secondary data collection method with the qualitative collection method to mainly focus on the quality of the research work. The results that concluded in this report was COVID-19 effect the event management industry, which results in people cancelling or postponing their plans for travelling, due to which the tourism industry has to face a huge loss. As it directly affects the economy of the country and degrades their value so the industry cannot be able to recover that loss. This proposed report contains a framework that can help in the improvement of tourism in Milton Keynes. According to the report, there is a connection present in the tourism and event industry that if people attend the event in any city, then it affects the economy of the overall country. Since Milton Keynes is one of the most popular countries of England, having a maximum number of start-ups. Then the decrement in the economy of that city also affects the management of that start-up firm. So to improve the tourism condition in Milton Keynes, it is important to increase the number of event organizations in that city. The major discussion that concluded from this research was that COVID-19 plays an important role in the creation of a negative atmosphere all over the world. According to the data collected in this report, the ineffective tourist interaction also created a negative impact on the transportation, security, and management field of industry. The in-depth study of this report also concludes that the issues involved in the policy management of the event industry also lead to the decrement in the public interest in such events. Such discussion in the different aspects of the report also generated the understanding of broadcasting in the responsibilities and accountability in the availability of resources in this sector. In the last, it can be concluded that research showed a direct linkage of the event industry with the tourism industry and tourism industry has direct linkage with the economy of Milton Keynes, so it can be said that the development in the event industry directly leads to the development in the economy of England.
Recommendation
Along with the spread of covid-19, every nation and industry have been affected by the pandemic in which the tourism industry is among them. Due to various restrictions imposed by the governments of every nation on travel, the tourism industry has been impacted greatly. That has forced the tourism industry to face unprecedented crisis periods that have majorly impacted the resort owners, tour operators, hotel operators, and airline industry. The tourism industry is one of the most important factors for various countries on which the majority of their economy depends. The worldwide lockdown imposed due to the covid-19 pandemic has caused major panic and fear amongst the people, due to which the tourist avoided visiting other countries and places. As various places all around the world, such as Milton Keynes area majorly dependent on the tourism industry, which has caused the emerging need to relaunch the tourism industry. Diverse events can be of major help in relaunching the tourism industry by motivating tourists all over the world to visit the places or events. Due to which this report has focused on reviewing the impact of business events in relaunching the tourism industry in the Milton Keynes area. There is an indirect relationship between tourism and business industry as for attending the events people visits different city and countries that enhances the overall tourism of the country. Events can be considered as an important reason due to which tourist visits different places. There are different impacts on the tourism industry based on the type of events, such as a business event, concert, and football matches. The business event can attract a lot of business interested people or tourist however at the same time it will not have much effect on the general public when compared to the football match or concert. However, Milton Keynes is one of the major places in England that organizes and manages business events due to the number of start-ups there that attracts a lot of tourists. Business events in Milton Keynes city can majorly improve the overall tourism industry development. For gathering and analyzing the data related to the business events and their influence on relaunching the tourism industry in Milton Keynes, secondary research methods have been considered. In this method, various secondary sources such as journals, articles, books and literature were considered for extracting the most relevant data to the topic. From the collected data, relevant qualitative data was extracted using the literature review method that helped to identify the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the tourism industry and event management industry. Further literature review method also helped to understand the relation between the tourism industry and business events that can improve tourism of Milton Keynes. Further, the method also helped to understand the need for the improvement in transportation and management system of locality for effectively handling the post-covid-19 situation.
