1. Summary of your work experience
Just after attaining a master’s degree in business management, I have been working as the manager assistant for the organisation XYZ. Here I am responsible for evaluating the performance of the employees working in the operational activities of the company. I believe that my job role here is to manage and lead the sales work carried out by the subordinates. I have been working on monitoring the productivity of the sales team in my area of work. I used to take part in decision making activities by the senior executives and have suggested effective measures for maintaining efficiency in business operations. My work experience led to enhancing my exposure while working with a great team and have contributed to my efforts in developing a positive work environment (Helyer, 2015). These tasks enable me to implement motivational aspects to make the subordinates achieve the targets set by the organisation. Although I used to face a variety of operational issues in a regular manner, as an assisting manager I have always been supported by my superiors to face the challenges and gain a better understanding of the work.
2. A consideration of how that experience has advanced your skills and knowledge
My abilities and expertise have been greatly enhanced as a result of my work as a management assistant at XYZ. To oversee the sales department's operations, I must be informed of the ever-changing business climate and trends. This type of practice has influenced my thinking and enabled me to become more focused and compassionate. This has also aided in the development of my decision-making and creative abilities. I have learned about various management methods and tools utilised by such businesses to raise consumer awareness and increase revenue.
The better leadership possibilities presented to me in the work have aided me in achieving a well-known position inside the organisation. My leadership abilities were increased as a result of dealing with operational issues; I was able to appropriately delegate, inspire, and engage with others (Helyer and Lee, 2014). Prior to taking on the role of manager, I was unaware of any leadership techniques and possessed very weak communication and real-time abilities. However, after a few months of practice, they have a tendency to become quite powerful. In addition, I have opted to obtain practical experience by working in different businesses, since this will improve my abilities and assist me in achieving my professional goals and expectations.
3. A summary of how that experience relates to the course of study you applied for
My course in business management has helped me in providing a piece of in-depth knowledge about the major aspects of the business. As I was good at understating the aspects of sales in the management studies, my working in a similar job role has enabled me to effectively conduct business operations. Also, the attainment of a master’s degree in business management has been able to make stand for such a job role in a reputed company which enabled me to gain a great experience in business management.
