Abstract

In the enhancement of the workplace culture, the most important person is the manager, because the manager is the one, who has a job role of management. So that’s why the manager is the most important person. There are various primary responsibilities of the manager which are meeting the client’s expectations in the proper way, properly setting the example of various things which help in boosting up the confidence of employees, decreasing the level of the ambiguity which is very much important for the development of the workplace The ethical role of the manager is to manage and lead the ethics task because the manager’s decision is very much important. Those decisions can easily affect the workplace environment and the employees also. This study will help the learner to collect all the important points regarding the management of the ethical risk and the standards in workplace with the ethical role of manager.

Introduction

Every company grows with the proper workplace management. Because in every company workplace helps every employee to work properly. Because if there is no working environment or management of the working environment. Then the employee cannot work effectively in that company. There are various ethical issues and risks in the workplaces because of toxic culture in the offices, unwanted kind of goals and harassments and many more things which are very much harmful of the employees and also for the success of the company. The management of the ethical issues is needed to perform because due to the ethical risks and issues, employees of the company have to face physical and mental harassment which is a very dangerous thing. Basically the ethical situation which are needed to follow are like obeying the rules of company, taking the proper responsibilities, proper professionalism, mutual type of respect and all the things which will help in getting the proper result of the workplace enhancement.

Problem Statement

In the present time, there are various kinds of issues in front of the employees who are working in various companies. The main issue of every employee is the ethical risk which is like an unethical type of leadership, the workplace is toxic, conflicting types of goals, unrealistic goals, and many more which is not a good thing for the employees. So, the management of ethical risk is very much important for the enhancement of the workplace.

Aim

This study aims to manage the ethical risk and standards of the workplace properly with the role of the manager

Objectives

The objectives which will help in achieving the aim are as follow:

  • To determine the ethical issues in the workplace.

  • To evaluate the methods which can manage the ethical issues.

  • To evaluate the role of the manager in the workplace environment management.

  • To find the best ways of effective workplace management of companies.

These are the objectives that will help in achieving the aim of the research.

Research questions

  • What ethical issues are in the company workplace?

  • How many levels of decrement happen in the success rate of the company due to ethical issues of the company?

  • What are the ways which will help in managing the standards and ethical issues?

  • How the company will overcome all these issues properly?



Literature review

Ethical Issues

In the present time, there are various kinds of workplace environment management systems. But still, there is various kind of issues which are faced by the employees. This is because there are not proper management or work behaviour in the workplace. There are some of the points which are needed to be managed by managers so that a better work will be created for the development of the work (Dinis-Oliveira 2020). There are various types of ethics which are needed to be maintained in the office, those ethics are:

  • Appearance

  • Organizational skills

  • Attitude

  • Character

  • Communication

  • Respect and teamwork

These are some of the basic work ethics which are needed to be maintained by the employees of the company. Because these are the basic ethics that helps in making the work culture proper and satisfactory. But there are very basic ethical issues which are faced by the employees during work, those ethical issues are:

  • Unethical leadership- This is basically a personal kind of issue, in which the reporting supervisor misbehave with the employees, in which any kind of burden will be provided by the manager or the reporting supervisor, like increased number of report, overtimes, and many more thing which can make the employee frustrated and unwilling to work. Almost 60% of the misconduct in the offices is performed due to this reason.

  • Toxic workplace culture- This is also a very big reason behind the unwanted behavior of employees towards work. Because in this, there is proper negativity in the workplace. Leaders will try to properly manipulate the figures of sales and pressure the employees to perform favor, bullying in a very unwanted kind of manner, and try to show that there is the proper comfortable system to work (Ochoa et al. 2019).

  • Harassment and discrimination- This is basically a crime which is performed in most of the offices in which the workforce is very much large. There is proper kind of guidelines which are very much important for the development of the work. But most number of companies do not follow those guidelines and perform those kind of activities which harass the employees and make them uncomfortable which is not good for the employees and the company as well. The harassment of the employees is performed on the basis of the gender, class, age, and various other factors which is not a good practice. When any employees filed a case against the company, then most of the companies try to stop these cases with the help of money, so that the reputation of the company will not be demolished.

  • Conflicting and unrealistic goals- In this company set an unrealistic kind of goal which is very hard for the team of the company to achieve the work, which is beyond the limits of company, or company tries to break the legal policies of working due to which the employees can work easily as per the requirement.

These are some of the issues which are faced by the employees of the company, and those issues are needed to solve properly because there are various sections which can help in getting the best results as per the requirement.

Methods of solving Ethical Issues

There are various slopes that are created by these issues and these slopes are the hardest thing for the companies. In all over 53 % of the employees always complained about the misconduct which is performed with them by the company (Beck and Lenhardt 2019).

There are various methods which can help in resolving these ethical issues properly, which will help the employees to work properly and provide the proper result as per the requirement. So the points which will help in getting the ethical issues resolved are:

  • Policy introduction- The company has to introduce proper codes as per the requirement of the employees. This is basically a document which provides proper information about the mission of the company, philosophy of the company and also helps the employee to get the proper information about the standard which help tin setting there proper standard as per the requirement. In this company has to change the guidelines as per the requirement or the current national wide trends.

  • Provide proper resources and education- When any company amends any code od document regarding ethics, then the main thing to perform is to provide the proper information and the knowledge about the changes so that the employees will easily accept the change and do not form any kind of difficulty for the company to implement the changes as per the requirement.

  • Confidential system- There should be a proper confidential system that helps the company to help the employees by stopping the violation because nobody can work on the basis of the whistle. That system will help the employees to report the ethical violation. So, in this way, the whole company employees can save themselves from ethical violence.

  • Be consistent- This is a very good method that is used for resolving the ethical issues in the company workplace. There should be proper points which are needed to be followed by the company and stand on those points. Similarly, the employees have to read the proper information on the contract and stand on that points which can help in the proper workflow of the company with employees. If there would be any condition of compromiser then there will be the failure of this structure.

So these are some of the methods which help in solving the ethical issues which are faced by the company.

When it comes to the role of the manager in the management of the ethical issues and standards, the manager is the most important person in managing all these points in the workplace. Because the manager is the one who has the responsibilities to manage the work, manage the employees, satisfy the expectation of clients and perform various activities, which comes under the management. So that’s why the manager playing a role in the management of the workplace ethical issues and setting the proper standards of working which will help in getting better results as per the requirement of the company. With the help of the standards, the employee will also get rid of the ethical violence (Berthelsen et al. 2020).

So, this section will help the learner to collect the information regarding the ethical issues which are faced by the employees during the work in the workplace, about the methods which can easily manage the ethical issues and the role of the manager in the management of the ethical issues and standards as per the requirement.

Methodology

The employees are the basic pillars of every company because without employees no company can work. So, this research is performed on the topic related to the management of the ethical issues and standards, the role of the manager in the workplace. The methodology is the most important thing for every research. The methodology is basically the procedure that is used for the selection, identity, and properly analyzing the data and information about the topic. The methodology always helps in getting the proper evaluation of the validity of the work. There are two types of methodology that are used for the research (Salin and Hoel 2020). Primary methodology and secondary methodology. The primary methodology is the method that helps in creating the genuine and new data. While the secondary methodology is the methodology that provides the data from the internet sources and other sources. In this study, the primary methodology is used. Because the primary methodology helps in collecting the fresh data. There are two types of data collection methods which are the qualitative data collection method and the quantitative data collection method. The qualitative data collection method is the method that helps in collecting the quality data with the help of various techniques. While the quantitative data collection method is the method that helps in collecting the data of quantity like the statistics and numerical data. In this study, the qualitative data collection method is properly performed (tamucc 2022). This method will help in conducting the research properly. The data collection will be performed with the help of various techniques of qualitative data collection methods.

This section will help the learner to collect the information related to the methodology which will be used in the research.



Conclusion

This study will be performed on the topic of Management of ethical issues and standards with the role of manager in workplace. This research will be performed properly to achieve the best results. All the points covered in this research proposal is perfect as per the requirement. This study will help the learner to collect all the important points regarding the topic.



Recommendation

The ethics to be integrated in all the corporate roles as a manager is an important concern. The recommendation to improve it and to avoid violation of them by the help of a framework that keeps a track of activities within the office premises over the actions of the employee. The manager can be directly involved or indirectly assign someone to do the work.
