Introduction

An Open-Air Fitness Event has been organised by the London Marathon Foundation in partnership with Oxford Business College and Greenhouse Sports for well well-being of students both physically and mentally. The event aims to raise awareness about the physical activities and positive contributions they made to the community. The main goal of this event is to see whether all age groups people with or without disabilities participate in these sports activities. The project management plan in this report will ensure that the event is implemented with the vision of raising awareness for physical activities and engaging the members of the community (Palmer and Dwyer, 2020).

Task 1: Project Justification and Business Care

Objectives

  • Fostering Enhanced Publicity of the various privileges that come with exercising among people of all ages.

  • Ensure the increased level of activity by the invitation of all categories of the population.

  • Involve people in the given area to boost an organized society that is willing to change for the better.

  • These include organizing a well-managed event, delivering impactful publicity, and generating a comprehensive post-event report.

  • Lift up the efforts of the organization towards supporting health and fitness.

Business Care

This event is designed to promote an active lifestyle for better well-being. An active lifestyle can reduce the risk associated with a sedentary lifestyle. By making this event open and available to everyone London Marathon Foundation encourages people to live healthy sustainable lifestyles and improve the overall welfare of individuals (Ultican et al., 2021). This project not only helps to achieve the national health goals and objectives but also brings the community closer by engaging in shared health activities. This activity improves individual health as well as builds a stronger community.

Chosen Methodology

Waterfall methodology is selected for this event. It is a structured, sequential approach, making it a good option for public events where all the tasks are completed in a very specific order. The waterfall methodology has been used in similar types of public events such as large sporting events, where a clear timeline is necessary for every task and stops overlapping independent activities like setting venues and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, this required predefined steps (Senarath 2021).

Task 2: Project Scheduling and Planning

Critical Path

Gantt Chart

The Gantt chart shows the order in which the event’s tasks would be undertaken while indicating the start and end dates of each of the tasks. It provides important tasks like stakeholder meetings, promotions, preparation of the venue and setting up of equipment. The chart makes it possible to schedule the tasks appropriately and assign the resources needed to work on the project as well as monitor the progress made thus easily pointing out the dependencies that may cause a blockage on the critical path of the project.

Some of them include adverse weather conditions, absence of workers, mechanical breakdown of equipment, and acts of terrorism as are common with mega-events. The specific probability then exposure of to risk is considered in every risk and the ways of minimizing or preventing the risks are shown (Palmer, 2020). For instance, disruptions resulting from weather which are among the high-risk factors include; the provision of shelters and having backup dates for the event while on costs; measures will involve monitoring of budget.

The table is devoted to quality control of the LMF Open Air Fitness Event and includes the following aspects: the safety of the event, satisfaction of the participants, effectiveness of the crew, and impact on the environment (Palmer, 2020). They include acceptance criteria like the health regulations and more than ninety percent of the participants provided positive feedback. Control measures are medical support during an event, feedback collection before the event, constant crew performance evaluation, and environmental conservation measures These measures guarantee that the event quality is high in terms of safety, satisfaction, and sustainability in the course of the event’s implementation (Taylor, 2020).

Conclusion

The open-air event fitness of the London Marathon Foundation event successfully manages stakeholders, risk, and quality with the use of waterfall methodologies. It supports the health and fitness goals of the London Marathon Foundation and Oxford Business College. It makes sure that all the parties are involved and aligns with the vision to enhance the health and welfare of every individual (Bhuva et al., 2020).
