Slide 2
This slide is based on the topic on which this study will be proposed.
Slide 3
Tourists trust international and UK-registered charities; however, the tourists view the international context as difficult to know when and how the money is to be spent (Hehir, et. al., 2024). Individuals are increasing their financial contributions to charities affected by the tourism experience. Charities play a significant role in the UK tourism industry by improving accessibility, fundraising and influencing the industry. Tourism is concerned to charities and it can be operated in industries and traveling is offered to sites that are concerned for the members. Charity tourism has made a growth and is affected by the post-career travelers. The charities are making this contribution in activities that support social tourism. Some charities in the face of the pandemic also is doing good things in the world and through Covid-19 travel as well as the tourism industry is highly affected which has not been experienced before. Tourism-supported charities are dependent on the visitor's support for survival.
Slide 4
This slide outlines the rationale of research as sustainable tourism is working with the travel industry for sustainably manage the destinations while addressing the community as well as the environmental issues (Kuri, et. al., 2022). The UK charity is providing the support that helps the travel industry to manage as well as to understand and with that effective actions are taken for sustainable tourism. With the UK, other popular charity tourism destinations that are involved are Tanzania, Nepal, Cambodia and Lesotho. The charity website or the Facebook page was reviewed and the organisations are providing activities about employability, however, the organisations that are not having a Facebook page are excluded from the assumption that they are inactive (Calò, Montgomery and Baglioni, 2022). The UK Charity Commission is the government regulator of charities and the charity register provides information about the activities and the people that are supported (Mayblin and James, 2019).
Through the youth charity, the trips are changing people to good citizens and with the return of young people from the trips, that includes the global charity (Judge, 2019). The youth development charity supports young people in redefining their horizons by making transformational adventures at sea.
Slide 5
It is important to develop more of knowledge tourism to know that tourism benefits communities and not only the economy. The research will be carried out to know the effects as well as the challenges that are faced among the UK charities for developing the industry of tourism.
Slide 6
This slide supports the development of a conceptual framework for the research area.
Slide 7
Effect of UK charity
The charities are providing trustworthy information resources for families and patients. Difficult decisions are made in the charitable sector in respect of how they are operating as well as the support that will be provided to patients (Haematology, 2020). Charities are important for the UK to provide benefits to the needs of society.
There is the effect of funding provided by the public as well as the charity bodies in the UK
. It was found that charity-funded research in the UK is limited, although it is growing (Gomes and Stavropoulou, 2019). Brexit -affects donations and the impact of charities in the UK are considered. Moreover, the impact of charity has a positive effect that inspires and engages the external stakeholders in connecting with the donors. Through volunteering, there is development in learning of new skills and meeting new people with valuable experiences that impact the future career. In charities, there are standards developed for the profit sector.
Charities are providing effective support in responding to social challenges that are faced in the UK, as social as well as income inequality. Charities can maintain the standards and to meet the growing demand (Gov.UK, 2019). The charity sector is important for society and for delivering the services that are provided by the public sector in different areas. The charity sector delivers higher quality services than provided by public sector.
Impact of UK charity in the development of the tourism sector
Charities are used in the tourism industry for fundraising and this can lead to an increase in commercialization for special and fundraising events. The independent charity is working with those people who are managing as well as developing tourism for a positive effect on directions.
Challenges faced:
The motivation for this is not clear and the relationship is measured among philanthropy and tourism.
Furthermore, technological issues are also faced in charity made among the travel industry, as there are many of cyber security threats faced projects and through this there is effective engagement with the development of tourism (Eger, Miller and Scarles, 2019).
Slide 8
This slide contains the gap that is faced in studies about a research topic.
The collected data is limited to a single country; however, other developing countries can be considered for the generalizability of the findings (Manzoor, et. al., 2019). Moreover, there is insufficient information found on the effect that charity has on the tourism industry.
Slide 9
In this slide, the aim, objectives and research questions are outlined which will be addressed in research project to obtain the key findings or to meet the aim.
Slide 10
Philosophy
This method is based on significant assumptions, on which work will be based. Other types of philosophies that are not adopted are interpretivism, pragmatism philosophy and realism philosophy (Al-Ababneh, 2020). The adopted philosophy will be the base for the selection of strategy that is adopted in research. In the view of positivists, the reality is stable and constant. There are repetable observations made and the phenomena can be isolated for finding the relations among the variables and the regularities are identified and the positivists manipulate the independent variables.
Interpretivism philosophy was not found optimal for the research area, as in this reality is known by intervening in reality and by subjective interpretation of the data. In this type of philosophy, a qualitative data set is preferred for collection (Baškarada and Koronios, 2018). Pragmatism philosophy was also not found optimal for the study as in this method, there is a combination of different methods as the consideration of qualitative and quantitative data. This type of philosophy takes longer duration of time and discrepancies can be created by the use of different data types that are hard to interpret.
Approach
In research, it is identified that with research approach is the trend among the theories and the research. In the research approach, a procedure is followed that consists of broad assumptions and detailed methods for the collection, analysis and interpretation. In the research approach there are categories as collection of data and analysis of the data by inductive as well as by deductive.
A deductive approach is preferred by the use of positivism philosophy for knowing the impact of UK charity on the tourism sector. Inductive approach is not considered appropriate for research as in this there is the development of new theory and it is considered with qualitative method. However, in this approach, a specific case is adopted that is based on the general rule of a case (Okoli, 2023).
Slide 11
Strategy
Several kinds of methods or strategies are experiments, surveys, case studies, interviews grounded theory as well as action research (Alturki, 2021).
A case study strategy was not found appropriate for the study, as in this there is the need for a case of any organisation to be considered. Grounded theory was not the appropriate strategy for research as it is typical to be managed and, there are larger amounts of data used (Birks, Hoare and Mills, 2019). Additionally, interview strategy is also not followed, as it is not associated with philosophy and this strategy is considered with qualitative data.
Methodological choice
In this method, there are two ways as qualitative and quantitative. These methods follow different techniques as well as procedures with a focus on numbers or words.
However, mixed as well as multi-method will be not optimally considered for the study. The mixed method is not an appropriate method, as in this method, qualitative as well as quantitative data are considered for achieving different aims (Harrison, Reilly and Creswell, 2020).
Slide 12
Time-Horizon:
In the time horizon, a specific period is covered by the study and for the time the data is collected as well as analysed. The selection of the time horizon is made based on the developed aims and the objectives for the development of the UK charities in the tourism industry. In any research, there are two distinct kinds of time horizons, cross-sectional as well as longitudinal time-horizon.
In cross-sectional time horizon, a specific time is selected for the collection of data and analysis will also be conducted for this (O’Laughlin, Martin & Ferrer, 2018).
Data collection method
Different kinds of data-gathering methods are included as primary as well as secondary methods (Islam, 2020).
In this research study to know the impact of UK charity on the tourism industry, the primary data collection method is preferred with effective support provided by quantitative data (Islam, 2020). Moreover, for this survey method, is an effective method for collecting data, from 40 participants. In the collection of the data for the literature review research papers and journal articles are considered for investing the role of UK charities, in knowing the effect of these charities on developing the tourism sector and the challenges can also be easily identified for this.
Slide 13
Data analysis method:
The selection of the analysis method is based on the type of data that is to be analysed and with that objectives of the research are also considered.
Other methods that are not found appropriate for study include prescriptive analysis methods, predictive and experimental analysis methods (Poornima and Pushpalatha, 2020). A prescriptive method is not considered as it is not found reliable for the generation of long-term solutions and these methods are not foolproof.
Ethical Considerations
Principles include voluntary participation, informed consent, confidentiality, anonymity and potential for harm. In conducting research, it is important to protect the well-being and rights of participants. The information in relation to the participants are kept secure so that it cannot be identifiable by any person. In quantitative research the quality criteria that is considered as reliability, generalizability and objectivity (Korstjens and Moser, 2018). Moreover, it is ensured that the developed work is free from plagiarism and from the misconduct of research. It is the ethical issue that is faced in research coping with someone else work. in the research misconduct, the data is falsified, manipulation of data analysis and the misinterpretation of the results, lead to academic fraud.
Slide 14
Through the study, different of respondents' data will be reviewed in the context to the topic. The conceptual framework provides a better view of concepts that are considered for study. Different ways of charities that are focused on tourism are charities that are operated in industry, fundraising and charities that are operated above the industry.
Through this research, support is provided, for knowing the impact of UK charities in developing the tourism sectors. In the research 40 of the respondents will effectively participate and provide their reviews through filling out the questionnaire.
Slide 15
In this slide, the research timeline outlined.
Slide 16
Analysis is limited to descriptive statistical analysis only (Hehir, et. al., 2024). However, thematic analysis can also be opted using qualitative data for the study. This will support better theoretical development in the context of the study area. Moreover, there are limited studies made on the UK charities that are affecting the tourism sector. In context to the study, more of the research objectives can be made, so that effective results can be generated. Furthermore, for the research, a longitudinal time horizon can be preferred, for the research project as, the limitation of collecting data within a single point of time can be resolved and the cause-and-effect relationship can be built.
