Project Management Plan
Project Management is an essential activity which carried out in every business to create a desired product which can make better profit in the market. Each project is based on strategy and process through project have to designed and that strategy called the project management plan. The project management plan should be effectives as per the requirement as all sub activities in project must follow the requirement of the project. This report will discuss about the project management concept of a family owned busines called leisure- life in Hunslet. this company manufacture beauty and health furniture. This report will cover the project plan for the growth of the company.
To create a better outcome, project managers are always for effective project life cycle. The project life cycle should be based on strong phases such as initiation, project planning based on requirement, implementation of the project planning and closing phase. These phases are discussed below as:
Initiation phase: At this stage of the project life cycle, problems, aims and objectives of the business needs to identified. This is an important step as the goal of the project must be set so that project planning can be prepared according to that.
Project planning phase: The aim of project planning is set the plan that includes all the activities with schedule which are required cover to fulfil the business requirement. Planning should follow a particular strategy to meet the objectives of the project. This helps the project manager to complete the project on time and deliver desired project.
Implementation: At this stage, prepared project needs to implemented as the project manager should follow the project plan so that requirement can be fulfil as per the requirement of the project.
Closing phase: This is an important phase where project is analysing as per the client requirement and agreement. It includes the crosschecking of deliverables as per the requirement (Papke-Shields, et.al., 2017).
At this stage of the project lifecycle, aims and objectives of the project for leisure life style business are identified. The aim of this project is to prepare a warehouse where production can be shift. Crossgate is the company which provided an area for the leisure so that this company can shift the office to meet the growth of as per plan. To shift the production, there are many activities which needs to perform. The objectives of the projects are as to analyse the requirements of the project and manage the shifting of production in defined cost. The leisure company decided to increase the workforce of the company by adding the multiple shifts so that while shifting the company, production and profits can be managed. The objectives are aims of the company is identified so that project can be planned in better way. The requirements and activities which are required to perform for the maintenance of new area. Each activity is scheduled for fixed amount of time so that it can they can be completed on time. To prepare the warehouse on time by applying the activities and shift the office, proper planning should be made which includes the objectives of the project that must be cover to fulfil the needs of the project (Ngetich and Gakuu, 2019).
This section describes the planning which is prepared to fulfil the requirement of the business. Project planning includes each step which considered as important to perform for to prepare a new warehouse for the business needs. Planning for the project is an important approach that set a path for the activities in a proper sequence so that each activity should be done properly. To meet the objectives of the project, activities should be performed in proper manner as per the plan. Project managers should consider all activities as per the planning and requirements. This action is required to design a project process overview at early stage which can determine future possible error and risks. The purpose of design a project plan is to meet the objectives of leisure life project (Moya-Colorado, et.al., 2021).
Here are the plans for the project which is based on few steps as:
Gather information and requirements which are required in the project.
Arrangement of activities in proper order which needs to perform for the project.
Prioritization of activity so that high priority work can be done first.
Activities such as examination of site, cleaning, required construction, electric work, plumbing activities and IT setup will be carried in series.
Transportation of goods and other things at new warehouse
Shifting of offices at new location with employees
Monitoring the activities so that it can be analyse things are done as per the plan or not (Antwi, 2020).
The above discussed steps are the steps which are included in the project planning to meet the project objectives.
This phase is also known as implementation phase where project needs to implemented as per the plan. Each activity has to be done according to the project planning such as per the plan which are discussed in the above section. According to the plan, first activity includes information gathering and requirement gathering which are required to implement each activity for the project. After the requirements, the arranged activities are carried out as per the prioritization assigned at planning stage. Tasks are performed as per the priority such as examination of site is done to check the fault and other error cross gate location. After the complete examination of the area, cleaning operation is done so that other activities can be performed easily. Construction activity to create the interior as per the needs, electric setup, plumping work and IT infrastructure is designed as per plan within defined number days. A proper schedule is mentioned in the planning of project which can help to meet the deadline of each project. After completion of activities which are involved in maintenance of the warehouse, production equipment’s transported at the location and set up is done. Furnitures and other requirements are needed to complete as per the plan (Neylon, 2017).
Monitoring should be performed to check the outcome of each activity which define project is going as per plan or not. Monitoring is process in which each performed activity is analysed to check the desired result and performance of the project. Project activity is carried out according to the plan within defined schedule (Khomyakov, Mirgalimova and Sillitti, 2020).
At this phase, project is analysed for the deliverables which are required from the project. the final deliverables are analysed and documented so that in can be represented in front of stakeholders of the project. closing of the project includes each activity performance and deliverables should be checked according to the objectives of the project. The deliverables and details of contracts such as project resources, suppliers and other information relation to the closing of the project are submitted to the stakeholders. Here the closing of the project needs to communicate with MD of leisure life company. The final part of this phase to construct the documentation in which remaining work, incorrect work and correct work as per the plan is consider. This phase helps in creating the documented experiences of the project that can help in future project (Wael, 2017).
Below table represent the project plan which contain all activities which has to be implemented to meet the project objectives.

The above Gannt chart and network diagram represent the activities which will be carried out as per the plan. The Gannt and network diagram is important because it defines the duration of activities and deadline in which work should be completed. the aim of representing the Gannt chart in project plan is to organize the activities in proper order so that while implementation of each activity, difficulties can be avoided. Network diagram is type of flow diagram where each activity is connected with each other which shows the linking of task which needs to perform in order (Silvius, 2017).
Monitoring is an important approach which is used for analysing the progress after execution of activities as per plan. The monitoring result defines the performance of the project execution. The activities which are performed to meet the business needs of the project should be analysed and measured in terms of performance and other factors. There are some effectives tools which are used for the monitoring of the project activity such as:
Gantt chart: It is used for tracking the task duration and activity that needs to cover in project practice. Here Gannt chart contains all activities for the preparing the new warehouse at crossgate.
Network diagram: Network diagram shows the sequences in which activities needs to implemented and it also used for tracking the ongoing activity progress. In this project network diagram is used which shows the start and end date of the project.
PERT chart: This is an important tool that used in this project to analyse the time duration of each activity which is taken by each activity in the implementation phase. this gives an idea about the project completion time so that progress report for the particular activity can be analysed.
The above discussed tools are used for monitoring of the project which defines the progress and performance of each acidity which is implemented. During the execution phase monitoring tools plays an important role in managing the project activity as per the plan.
For the reflection of learning from the module, CARL model of reflection is used. This model defines the learnings of this project followed by the past situation, action taken and result of the project.
C – context
A – Action taken
R – Result obtained
L – The lesion which was learned
So here we implement this model of reflection to define the learning of this project as:
C- The past situation of this project includes shortage of warehouse space for storing the hospital furniture’s. The leisure life needs some extra space for the storage so that production can be maximize and sale profits can be increased. To reduce this problem of the company, crossgate provides an area which is double of the current area (Vega Bautista and Tri Prasetyo, 2020).
A – This includes the action which are taken for prepare a new warehouse for storing furniture’s. The actions which are performed are examination of the area, cleaning, construction, electrician work, plumbing work and IT implementation. Apart from these transportations of production equipment’s and office furniture.
R- The result which Obtained is a new prepared warehouse for the storage in respect to business needs. This is the outcome of this project that required as aim of the project which is successfully met.
L – The lessons which are learned from this project are as:
Project should have effective project planning
Project planning is an essential tool for the project management
The time duration of each activity should be defined at early stage of the project that helps in delivering the project on time.
The Ware house project of leisure life is successfully completed so that it can fulfil the business needs. The aim and objectives of the project is successfully met with deliverable of the project. The concept of project management is successfully understood by performing this project and illustrated. Each activity of the project is successfully performed within deadline which are represented with the help of network diagram and Gantt chart to monitor the project. Monitoring of the project is successfully done to track the progress of the project activities.
