This structure basically involves grouping of activities into position, assigning different functions to different personnel and authority delegation on the basis iof the task assigned and responsibilities included. The HR of Gourmet Burger Kitchen assigns the task to different individuals on the basis of the goals that are required to achieve.

In other words they guide the employees to accomplish the personal goals as well as the organisational goals the HR has the capability to identify the need of the employees and the methods to satisfy those demands (López, 2018). Gourmet Burger Kitchen’s HR finds what their employees need and establish the ways to satisfy the wants in order to bring out their best.

Operative function

Procurement: The procurement function of HRM is about recruiting the right kind of people and right number of employee at the right time and at most reasonable rates. It specifically deals with the determination of the labour force requirement, staffing, screening, induction and placement (Michael, et al., 2019). The HRM of Gourmet Burger Kitchen is subjected to procuring and recruitment of people who fits the best for the position and have necessary midset, knowledge and skill set.

P2 Explain the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to recruitment and selection.

Recruiting the employees within the organisation is one of the most important job of the HRM department of the organisation. it is the duty of the HRM department to recruit the qualified employee for the organization, who is having the required skills. Recruitment is basically a method where the organization search for the required candidates who has the ability and potential with the right amount of knowledge and experience. Whereas the selection is the lengthy process of selecting the right candidate for the right job (Soma, et al., 2018). In the selection process there’s a huge long selection process is require. The candidates have to go through a large pool of preliminary elimination, where they check the ability of the candidate and then compare each steps from one another. According to Sintok, et al., (2016) today the process of interview has changed with the development of the technology, now the candidates don’t have to travel so much they can easily give the interview online with the help of the internet. Recruitment process in Gourmet Burger Kitchen includes both the internal and the external recruitment. On the other hand, Ahamed, et al., (2019) have mentioned that in the external recruitment one of the most important cons of this recruitment is that this step in very lengthy and as well as time-consuming and it is also expensive for the organization They have to go through a pre-employment testing where the candidates has to pass all the hurdles of tests in order to pass the selection process. As opine by Khatun, et al., (2017) in the internal recruitment no new candidate is recruited. The already existing candidates were given the opportunities where they get promotion or the required training. It limits the organization to recruit the new candidates for them and because of this the organization miss out the fresh ideas and perspectives. In the selection process the HR of the organization, examine all the required candidates. On the contrary Hrabovská et al., (2019) In selection process sometimes maybe the candidates may not be an honest person, they have cheated in the whole process of selection. Going through all these tests the candidates learns about a lot of different aspects where they were lagging behind

In every organisation, they need to improvise the relationships between the employees in order to influence the decision-making. Humans are not machine they need other people to talk to understand the working environment and to help them whenever any misunderstanding occurs. It is very essential for the employees to share good relationship among each other and this can only happen when the organisation has a hardworking employees (Veth, et al., 2019). Some of the importance of employee relations to influence HRM decision making are as follows:

  • Healthy relationships among the employees and the HRM, improves the work within the organisation and they can work even more efficiently.

  • When an employee takes any decision for the organisation, they feel that they are important for the organisation and their views matters for the organisation.

  • Making a decision for the organisation helps them to improve their skills and gives them a positive view point (Vnou?ková, et al., 2018).

  • It also helps the employees to understand their decision-making ability whether they are able to taking the decision for the betterment of the organisation or is the decisions are failing miserably.

  • The employees gets the notion and recognises the effective workforce, they even generate the alternatives ways for the organisation.

  • By giving the authority in the hands of the employees, the employees learn about different work performance and they even learn about the different managerial relations (Mylan, et al., 2018)

Taking the Gourmet Burger Kitchen into consideration, then one can say that they try to improvise the workforce within the organisation. It gives the authority in the hands of the working staffs so that they can get the idea how an organisation works. They are playing a huge role by influencing those decisions for the organisation. It is one of the major reason for the success for the organisation as a responsible HR understands the need to improve the workforce and the operations of the organisation. The HR literally plans out the strategy, organise the work, then does the staffing and after that they need to lead the team and then controls the work. They even coordinate the employees so they can achieve the required target for the organisation (Mylan, et al., 2018). HRM actually helps the organisation to execute a better working environment and a smoother working force. The HRM of the organisation is the only one who can inspire the whole employees of the organisation so that they can participate in every decision making of the organisation. Most importantly it helps the employees to build a healthy relationship among the working staffs and have a mutual respect for each other so that they can both enjoy the organisation’s benefit and work with loyalty with each other in order to achieve the long term productivity (Lai, et al., 2020).

P6 Identify the key elements of employment legislation and the impact it has upon HRM decision making.

There are lots of legislation rules and regulations, that help the employees to save them from being exploited. The rules and regulations such as ‘The Employees Right Act’, ‘Equal pay’, ‘Sex Discrimination Act’, ‘The minimum wage Act’ and a lot more policies that help the organisation in their decision-making. These regulations has that much power that they can anytime change the decision of the organisation (Stankevi?i?t?, et al., 2018). Some of the key elements of employment legislation that has the impact in the decision-making are as follows:

  • Giving the equal employment opportunity to the every employees irrespective of their gender.

  • It helps in eradicating the sexual harassment.

  • It helps in improvising the working conditions of the organisation.

  • It gives them a sense of security within the organisation.

  • It gives the right to the employees to take affirmative action if situation arises.

  • It helps in providing equal wages and remuneration to the employees.

All these factors above should ensure that the organisation is operating their work keeping these points in view and they are following these legislation within the organisation (Stankevi?i?t?, et al., 2018). It can be stated that the HR team of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, tries to implement these legislation within their operations. The HR team of Gourmet Burger Kitchen takes the legislation to their consideration so that the employees can enjoy their rights within the organisation and these legislation acts as a safe guard for the employees. The manager of the HR team should formulate these plans into their workforce. These regulations also regulate the payroll policies of the organisation, and it gives them the benefits to plan out the strategies for the organisations and the strategies which they are making should not be partial and the decision should be equal for every working staffs. Applying these legal measures help to protect the rights of the employees and make them aware about their rights so that the manager of the organisation cannot exploit their rights. They can work in order to satisfy the needs of the organisation and to give them the safe working condition this leads them to participate properly in every decision making for the organisation (Lopez-Cabrales, et al., 2020).
