Introduction

The business operation and the management are the two sides of one coin. In business entities, it is important to develop a proper plan of operation and the proper management for dealing with different situations. The situations can be favourable or can be unfavourable for the business. The managers need to develop the pan to take the situation under control (Nieet al., 2020). In this part of the assignment, the operational and the management process will be ventilated.




The functions of business operations; Production, Supply chain, logistics, location strategies, quality control and HR

There are various functions in a business operation, such as production. Logistics, supply chain, location strategy, quality control and HR. all these functions will be discussed below concerning the car manufacturing company Aston Martin.

Production: The luxury car manufacturing company has developed its production methods and reopened two more factories in the UK with an innovative technological mechanism so that the product will be innovative (Fili et al., 2020).

Supply chain: the supply chain of the company is flexible. The supply management system of Aston Martin, UK, is capable of operating the global supply chain. The supply chain has been chosen based on the quality cost and management risks.

Logistics: The car manufacturing company has developed a new logistic centre in Wellesbourne. It was under their second-century plan. The well planned operational position, office and centralised warehouse are developed in this logistic to make the function more efficient.

Location strategies: The luxury automobile company has planned its locational strategy in such a way that their all the factorise are getting enough resources. These factories are located in Gaydon. The showrooms are located in rich areas of the UK. So that the customers who the car manufacturer are targeting will be able to pay a visit or provide attention to the stores.

Quality control: The quality control process of the company has been updated recently. The metrology is a technically enhanced process of quality check. This is used in their factories before and after the car has been manufactured. Horizontal-arm is effective to trace the quality of the raw materials (Liebe et al., 2020).

HR: The HR team of the company, has been helping the company to develop their organisational culture. They are effective in recruiting talented and skilled employees so that the operation will be enhanced.




What role managers have ineffective operations

The managers have different roles in organisations like Aston Martin. The operational managers need to focus on the different parts such as finance, production, supply chain, quality control.

  • The managers of Aston Martin, concentrate on the financial budget before going for any new production program. The budget is important for such programs. As per the requirement of the operation, the budget will be decided.

  • For the production process, the managers need to decide the system that can be followed to achieve targeted production. AIis used to make the design. The managers approved the design (Atroszko and Atroszko, 2020).

  • Supply chain maintenance is one of the significant parts of the manager's decision making. The supply chain management and the quality checking of the raw materials are conducted by the managers of Aston Martin. The managers need to arrange the supply chain.Maintaining warehouse stocks before the production process is an important task of managers.

  • The managers cover the function of distribution and logistics. The proper products or thematerial should be reached to the proper location. That is important for the managers to track.

  • The HR managers maintain the workflow and the workforce as well. They play an important role in making the recruitment of competent and skilled staffs.
