A Summary of work experience
After completing my graduation, I have done my internship at Amazon and my work was related to marketing and promotion of the products. The function of the position helped me effectively coordinate different marketing strategies with the production department, sales and public relations. I have to look after the company’s competitors' marketing strategy and try to come up with new ideas to promote Amazon products in an ethical manner. Also, my primary aim in utilising social media, SEO, and traditional marketing was to increase brand acknowledgement and attract new customers. Each marketing effort was a success in terms of producing interest and interaction with potential clients.
The working environment of Amazon was very friendly and all the colleagues were supportive. While working in the company I came to learn many skills and abilities that I might not have grabbed in my academic studies. Other than marketing, I also use to keep a checklist of the goods stored and also categorise them accordingly. While delivering goods to customers, I also came up with the idea of sending customised gifts to make them happy and attract them to purchase more and more from Amazon.
How that experience has advanced your skills and knowledge
My skills and knowledge have been highly upgraded by doing my internship at Amazon. To market the products and Amazon platform, I have to be aware of its competitors and their strategy. Such activity has impacted my mindset and helped me to become more attentive and patient. This has also helped me in improving my decision making and creativity skills. I have come to know about different marketing strategies and tools used by such companies to make customers aware and enhance their sales.
Before, doing the internship, I was not aware of any marketing tactics and was having very poor communication and decision-making skills. But after a few months' experience, they have tended to become very strong. I have decided to gain practical experience by working in other firms as this will enhance my skills and help me to achieve my career aims and objectives in the desired manner.
Summary of how that experience relates to the course of study applied for
After gaining the wok experience and knowledge about Marketing, the course that will be highly suitable for me would be Business and Marketing Communication (Bath Spa University, 2022). Further, I decided to choose this course because I have an interest in business marketing and the management of business logistics. Both marketing and logistics are considered to be important aspects of any business. Also, the demand for digital marketing has been highly increasing in recent times. This course will help me in gaining more knowledge about the marketing of business and also help me to get a good job in an efficient manner. I will learn about different marketing communication tools such as personal selling, advertising, public relations, social media, promotion and many others. Though I have already gained practical information regarding these channels, so it will become easy for me to pursue this course. This is how my work effectively relates to the course that I have applied for.
