4. Methodology
Methodology and Philosophy of Research
The research problem proposed will be founded on a deductive research approach and a positivist research philosophy. The deductive approach is appropriate because the research is anchored on already known theories and academic sources and books (Kumar, S. and Ujire, 2024). These are based on corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), organisational behaviour, and operational management that prevail in the fast fashion industry. The existing theoretical understanding of the barrier to CSR is subjected to the empirical evidence based on the data of respondents who are familiar with UK fast fashion brands. This is also grounded on the positivist principles of focusing on objectivity, measurability, and the use of quantifiable information to establish the patterns and associations of organisational and operational issues with the adoption of CSR.
Research Design
The survey format will be descriptive-analytical, in which it will explore the perception of the respondents regarding the CSR-related barriers in a systematic way. This structure will enable the researcher to elucidate existing tendencies, besides offering a contribution to the extent to which organisational structures, leadership priorities, and operating procedures affect the CSR integration. This design is suitable for the extraction of attitudes and experience, depending on a set sample, and can be compared at different levels of CSR matters.
Research Methods
The questionnaire of an online survey will be designed on the basis of Google Forms and will become the primary data collection tool. The questionnaire shall contain multiple informative answers, structured and closed-ended questions. This saves on time and is cost-effective, making it a method suited to reach out to a geographically dispersed cluster of respondents in the UK. Standardised questions are used to ensure consistency, and the quantitative analysis can be applied by using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and means.
Participants
The target sample will then comprise individuals aged 18 years and above who are regular buyers, academics, or the detective ones of practices in UK fast fashion and have some rudimentary understanding of CSR practices. The involvement will be handled using a convenience sampling strategy in which the survey will be implemented using the student networks and the internet. The appropriate sample size is 45 respondents, which is an adequate number of respondents to carry out quantitative analysis at the undergraduate level without noticing limitations on generalisability.

5. Ethical Considerations
Autonomy, privacy and dignity of individuals and communities
The study ethics may be defined as the cluster of moral principles that direct the behaviour of research, particularly that of rights and well-being of the respondents (Khan, 2024). To observe autonomy, participation in this study will be voluntary and will be enabled by a Participant Information Sheet on purpose, procedures and the nature of the research. I will also obtain informed consent by using an electronic form of consent before participating in the survey. No one amongst the respondents will be punished since they can withdraw at any time. It will ensure anonymity since no identifiable personal data will be collected, confidentiality will be ensured due to the safe data storage, and access will be provided exclusively by the researcher.
Scientific Integrity
The scientific integrity will be upheld by ensuring that all the information that is utilised in the analysis is indeed collected by the identified segment of the participants, as well as through the application of the recognised acceptable method of research (Zhaksylyk et al., 2023). No data manipulation, falsification, or fabrication will be done. I will analyse the survey objectively, and the results will be reported with or without being correlated with the expectations. In addition, the referencing of every text applied to the scholarship will be done correctly to avoid plagiarism and sustain the course of openness.
Social Responsibility
The present research is a socially responsible study because it discusses barriers to CSR within the UK fast fashion industry, a sector that engages with too many social and environmental concerns. People and organisations are not deprived of their dignity in the paper, as the focus of the study is not on accusing some brands but rather on the systemic problems. I will follow the study by assist in making informed decisions and advance ethical business operations with regard to what society expects in terms of sustainability and responsibility because it will reveal the obstacles available within the organisation (Onyekwelu et al., 2024).
Maximising Benefit and Minimising Harm
The threats to the subjects are also negligible because the survey will not contain any sensitive or intrusive questions. The safety of the psychological state is ensured by allowing interviewees not to answer questions or walk out whenever they want (Akortiakuma et al., 2022). These findings can be beneficial to the different stakeholders, including the students, academics, and fast fashion organisations, by illuminating issues regarding the application of CSR. Lastly, the research is useful to the common good in that it contributes to the responsibility of business practices and gives rise to ethical consciousness in the field of fashion.
